Signature Formulations September Update
This month we are going to answer some common questions from our clients on back bar, offering a promo on an item we are phasing out and announcing an OCTOBER 1 modest price increase.
Backbar
We realize backbar items cost the salon money and retail items are the items that make the salons money.
Understanding this dynamic, we try to find ways to keep back bar cost low while also keeping retail item salon costs in line with 3x markup.
Backbar Shampoos, Conditioners and other items are being packaged in obsolete packaging to save landfill space and lower the cost of backbar.
To use the obsolete bottles, we needed to wrap a label around the items. Many will be pleased with the shiny black backbar labels. While they do cost more than a white small paper label, they still are a less expensive alternative to a custom order of liters.
The price of the generic black labeled back bar is now just $13.95
per liter.
We are looking at pouches for the future to reduce plastic. We haven't found any that we can fill currently but hope to have them early next year. Meanwhile we will still have many obsolete liter bottles avoiding the landfill before being used.
September promotion:
As you know we are phasing out Pure Moisture for our upgraded Moisture and Shine Shampoo. If however your customers are stuck on the yummy peach fragrance and you want to stock up for them, we are offering a while supplies last BOGO on Pure Moisture 10 oz Shampoo.

Price Increase
Finally, Starting October 1, we will have to pass on a price increase of 5%. Direct labor and ingredients costs are not leveling off as we thought and therefore we need to raise our prices even before the traditional first of the year increases. We wont have another
increase Jan 1.
Be assured we are doing everything we can to keep cost as low as we can and hope note to need another increase until 2026.
